An internal combustion engine uses oxygen just as fires require oxygen to keep aflame. There is no internal oxygen tank in a car for this purpose, as that wouldn’t be very efficient. Instead, Mini Cooper vehicle manufacturers equip cars with intakes that bring air inside to the Mini Cooper engine directly. Mini Cooper Air intakes are designed to provide the least inhibited route possible for the air to reach from outside the Mini Cooper car all the way to the engine, though stock versions aren’t always the most effective.
For that reason, many car owners turn to aftermarket Mini Cooper air intakes to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of their vehicles’ intake capacity. The greater the amount of oxygen supplied to the engine, the more power it can produce. Mini Cooper Cold air has more oxygen, for instance, so Mini Cooper cold air intakes have become popular Mini Cooper intake upgrades. Other upgrade types focus more on greater Mini Cooper air intake capacity period, but either way, you’ll end up with a better performing engine using an upgraded Mini Cooper air intake system in your car.

This straight pipe is very nice. I bought 1 myself for me 85 Corolla and it sounds really nice also. I don't use the silencer as much but besides that everythings nice. I'm 15 right now and I'm trying to get somewhere with my 85 Corolla that me dad loaned to me. They straight pipe I bought just killed it. Its really awesome!

Pretty good quality finish, great fit, weave is okay, and it's the only option out there that I know of which explains the high price (-1 star).
